Crane kicks at the ready: Karate Kid: Legends unites Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio

Get set for a new generation of martial arts action, as the beloved Karate Kid franchise returns to the big screen with Karate Kid: Legends. Following five films, an animated series, and the wildly popular Netflix spin-off Cobra Kai, this upcoming instalment promises to bring all the action, heart, and masterful kung fu fans have come to expect.

The newly dropped teaser trailer offers a thrilling glimpse at the franchise’s intergenerational reunion, featuring Karate Kid legend Ralph Macchio reprising his role as Daniel LaRusso, alongside martial arts icon Jackie Chan, who played Mr. Han in the 2010 reboot. Together, the pair mentor newcomer Ben Wang, who stars as Li Fong, a kung fu prodigy with a powerful story.

According to the official synopsis, Karate Kid: Legends follows the story of kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) who is uprooted from his home in Beijing after a family tragedy, and forced to move to New York City with his mother. Li struggles to let go of his past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates, and although he doesn’t want to fight, trouble seems to find him everywhere. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren’t enough.

Li’s kung fu teacher, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) to lend a hand. Together, they teach Li a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.”

With high-stakes drama, emotionally charged mentorship, and thrilling fight sequences, Karate Kid: Legends promises to be a worthy addition to the series.
