It’s awards season, and the nominees for the prestigious Critics Choice Awards 2025 have been unveiled. This years edition of the awards will take place on 12 January at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, with comedian Chelsea Handler returning as host for the third consecutive year.

In a proud moment for India, Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light has secured a nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category. This marks another milestone for the acclaimed film, which has been on an impressive award-winning streak, clinching accolades at the Gotham Awards, New York Film Critics Circle, Los Angeles Film Critics Circle, San Diego Film Critics Circle, and the Chicago Film Critics Association.

Notably, the film, headlined by Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha, is not India’s official entry for the Academy Awards 2025—a distinction held by Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies. Despite this, All We Imagine As Light has received widespread recognition, including nominations for Best Non-English Feature and Best Director at the Golden Globes 2025 earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Wicked continues its stellar run, leading the Critics Choice Awards nominations with 11 nods, tying with Ralph Fiennes’ gripping drama Conclave. Other major contenders include Emilia Perez and Dune: Part Two, each receiving nominations across ten categories.

The Critics Choice Awards 2025 have also drawn attention for the diversity of genres represented in this year’s nominees. From fantasy epics to intimate dramas, the eclectic selection ensures tough competition, making it challenging to predict winners.

As anticipation builds, fans and critics alike are eager to see which films and performances will come out on top at this year’s ceremony.
