Sean “Diddy” Combs was reportedly taken from a Brooklyn federal prison to a hospital on Thursday night, as he continues to face charges related to multiple sex crimes. The 54-year-old hip-hop mogul, currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre, is scheduled to stand trial on 5 May.
According to sources speaking to the New York Post and Daily Mail, Diddy was moved to Brooklyn Hospital around 10 p.m. on Thursday. Initially, there were speculations that the move was prompted by his involvement in a prison altercation or another emergency. However, it was later clarified that the rapper was transferred for medical attention due to ongoing knee pain. Combs has a documented history of knee issues, notably stemming from his participation in the New York marathon.
Sources stated that Diddy was temporarily relieved from the prison to undergo an MRI. After the procedure, he was reportedly returned to his cell later the same night. Back in 2017, Combs shared updates about multiple knee surgeries he underwent in a single year, expressing his determination to overcome the injuries.
In an Instagram post at the time, he wrote, “Just had my final knee surgery. They’d said I’d never run again. I said the devil is a liar,” reflecting on his recovery. Combs later expressed his gratitude to the medical professionals who assisted in his treatment.
The hospital visit was kept under wraps to avoid unwanted speculation or unrest among inmates and staff at the prison. A source close to the situation told The Post that the late-night transfer was arranged to prevent any leaks that could lead to chaos or potential escape attempts. A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson declined to comment on the specifics of Combs’ medical situation, citing privacy and security concerns.
This hospital visit comes as Diddy’s legal issues continue to unfold, adding another layer of complexity to his already tumultuous situation.
