If there’s one artist who has truly captured every space he steps into over the past three years, from the stages of Coachella to Bollywood multiplexes and stadium tours across the UK, it’s Diljit Dosanjh.
Excitingly, he is set to headline Ranna Ch Dhanna, a Punjabi comedy entertainer that will hit theatres worldwide on 25 June 2027.
The announcement was made by film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who shared the news along with a vibrant poster on social media.
What’s particularly exciting for fans is the talented team behind the camera. Ranna Ch Dhannabrings back the blockbuster crew from Honsla Rakh, including director Amarjit Singh Saron and producers Pawan Gill, Aman Gill, and Dharminder Singh.
Honsla Rakh, released in 2021, became a phenomenon among Punjabi cinema audiences, charming viewers with its warmth and humour, especially in the UK and North America, markets where Diljit has a strong following.
Having this team reunite, with Diljit at the centre once again, signals a heartfelt return to his roots in Punjabi cinema, even while his global profile continues to soar.
Most recently, Diljit starred in Main Vaapas Aaunga, which opened in theatres on 12 June 2026.
This marked his second collaboration with director Imtiaz Ali, following their successful biopic Amar Singh Chamkila.
The difference in genres from a period music biopic to a dramatic feature highlights Diljit’s impressive versatility and makes his return to Punjabi comedy feel even more intentional. He’s clearly in control of his artistic journey, choosing the paths he wants to take.
While details about the cast and plot are still under wraps, the key announcements, including the release date, the director, and the leading man, are certainly enough to keep fans excited.
