Funky Pigeon have today launched an initiative where customers can send free Rakhi cards to their siblings for 72 hours only.
With Raksha Bandhan fast-approaching on 11 August, Funky Pigeon is offering a special deal for shoppers to send a free card to their brothers and sisters to celebrate the occasion.
‘Raksha’ means protection while ‘Bandhan’ is the verb to tie. During the traditional Hindu festival, sisters will tie a ‘rakhi’ which is a bracelet made of intertwined red and gold threads around the wrist of their brothers to celebrate the relationship.
As well as celebrating the love and relationship between siblings, Rakhi also marks an auspicious day in the Hindu calendar. It is believed that if you tie Rakhi at an auspicious time, it can bring happiness and prosperity to the whole family.
The offer qualifies customers for one free card per person and will be active across the full Rakhi cards range, using the code HAPPYRAKHI at the checkout to activate.
Kate Escott, head of product at Funky Pigeon said:
“We’re really excited to be giving customers the opportunity to take up this great offer for the first time! We have a huge range of beautiful, bright and colourful designs that are perfect for showing your brother just how much they mean to you.”
The 72 hour window for free cards will begin on Tuesday 9 August and will end at midnight on Thursday 11 August.
