Actress, reality star and host Gauhar Khan’s career has been on a successful high; from appearing in movies such as ishqzaade and Rocket Singh, to winning Bigg Boss season 7 and going on to host singing competition India’s Raw Star. Just as things couldn’t get any better, Khan got into a shocking incident which left her speechless on Sunday.
Khan was slapped by a member of the audience at the India’s Raw Star grand final shooting. Reports have said that “A preliminary probe has revealed that someone from the audience started teasing Khan to which she protested. An argument ensued between Gauhar and the man who was teasing her. Things turned ugly when the man suddenly slapped the actor.”
The man was believed to have been overpowered by security immediately after the incident and arrested on the spot. Police have registered a case of assaulting a woman against Khan’s attacker.
The reason behind the attack is said to be because the man stated “Being a Muslim woman, she should not have worn such a short dress.”
In a video, which has gone viral, from the sets of India’s Raw Star final Gauhar Khan is seen to be visibly shocked and astonished as she holds her hand up to her cheek. She is then heard screaming shouting at somebody to “Leave him.”
Khan did put on a brave face and return to the shooting of the show after the incident took place.
“The accused was produced in the court on Monday,” said assistant police inspector Sanjay Shinde at the Aarey Sub Police Station, without giving further details.
“Since it is a matter associated with Bollywood, a senior officer is also following the progress of the probe,” he added.
Gauhar took to twitter today to speak up about the attack, “I thank all my fans…loved ones n imp voices of personalities tat hav supported me in dis traumatic time..May almighty bless us all.”
