“Goodbye”, directed by Vikas Bahl and starring megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandana promises an emotional yet a feel good ride into a family centred drama. Makers of the movie call this concept “family tuning” rather than a “family drama”

The trailer, which released 6 September, has already garnered 18 million views on YouTube. Giving a glimpse into what’s coming, the trailer shows how a family, living separately, comes together to mourn the death of the mother. Amitabh Bachchan, playing the father, is shown as trying to teach his children about traditions, that are followed post the death of a loved ones. While Rashmika Mandana, the daughter having a modern outlook, is shown questioning the same.

Goodbye is a story of a daughter, Tara’s mother’s untimely demise. The family comes together under one roof for a period of thirteen days. Tara’s father copes with the coming together of the entire family, loneliness and learning new things about his family. During the course, the family’s dynamics, politics, and insecurities come out, and then they realise that the importance of people and things are only evident in retrospect.
