With wearable technology set to feature across the runways this September, British designer Henry Holland will be taking it a step further at next season’s London Fashion Week in partnership with Visa Europe Collab.

The worlds of fashion and tech have never been closer, and as mobile payments continue to build market momentum, designers will be looking ahead to SS16 collections to showcase new innovations. Henry Holland is set to announce a world-first on the catwalk as he unveils plans for his upcoming show this September at the Decoded Fashion Summit in Tokyo on Thursday 9th July.

With over 110m wearables expected to ship worldwide by 2018, Henry and Visa Europe Collab will reveal a new type of integration in the fashion and technology space incorporating payments into design for the first time and showcasing the potential interaction from catwalk to everyday shopping experience.

Visa Europe Collab is the innovation hub launched earlier this year by Visa Europe to explore new ways for people to interact with payments. Henry will announce his collaboration with Visa Europe Collab on a unique new proof of concept, a 100 day innovation process to take ideas from drawing board to prototype. Henry will work with a hand-picked team of craftspeople, artisans and technology providers to use NFC and Bluetooth Smart technologies which culminates in his SS16 collection showcase at LFW in September.
