It’s a moment of celebration for Hera Pheri fans! Director Priyadarshan, the man behind the cult-classic first instalment, has officially announced his return to Hera Pheri 3. On his birthday, the acclaimed filmmaker expressed his willingness to helm the much-anticipated sequel with the original trio—Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal—sparking excitement among fans and the cast alike.
Akshay Kumar was among the first to extend his birthday wishes to Priyadarshan, sharing a candid moment from the sets of Bhoot Bangla, their upcoming horror-comedy. He wrote:
“Happy Birthday, Priyan Sir! What better way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set, surrounded by ghosts… both real and unpaid extras? Thank you for being a mentor, and the only person who can make chaos look like a masterpiece. May your day be filled with fewer retakes. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead!”
In response, Priyadarshan surprised everyone with an exciting update on Hera Pheri 3. Teasing Akshay, he wrote:
“Thank you so much for your wishes, Akshay Kumar. In return, I would like to give you a gift—I am willing to do Hera Pheri 3! Are you ready, Akshay?”
He also tagged Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, prompting enthusiastic reactions from the cast. Akshay, unable to contain his excitement, responded with a classic meme from Welcome (2007), where he exclaims “miracle, miracle!” His post read:
“Sir!!! Your birthday, and I got the best gift of my life. Chalo karte hain phir thodi Hera Pheri 3 🙂 @pareshrawalofficial @suniel.shetty @priyadarshan.official.”
Paresh Rawal, known for his iconic role as Babu Bhaiya, shared his joy on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“Dear Priyan ji, you are the Mother who brought this divine bundle of joy into the world! Thanks once again for taking custody of this ever-smiling baby! Welcome, sir, and make the world happy again. @priyadarshandir #HeraPheri3.”
Suniel Shetty echoed the sentiment, resharing Priyadarshan’s post and adding:
“Hera Pheri aur pooch pooch!!! Let’s do this #HeraPheri3.”
Adding to the excitement, Gulshan Grover, who played the menacing Kabira in the first film, joined the conversation. Taking to X, he playfully called out Suniel for not tagging him:
“Yes, Suniel brother, absolutely! Hera Pheri aur pooch pooch!! Shetty, my brother, Kabira ko tag nahi kiya? Kabira speaking ke bina Hera Pheri?”
The Hera Pheri franchise began in 2000 with Priyadarshan’s directorial vision, bringing to life the unforgettable characters of Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty), and Babu Bhaiya (Paresh Rawal). The film became a massive success, gaining a cult following for its impeccable comedic timing and hilarious dialogues. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), directed by the late Neeraj Vora, continued the madness, cementing the trilogy’s legendary status.
With Priyadarshan back at the helm, fans are eager to see if Hera Pheri 3 can recreate the magic of the original. One thing’s for certain—this reunion has everyone excited, and the anticipation for the next chapter of the Hera Pheri saga is at an all-time high.
