The eastern waterfront of Mumbai usually buzzes with cranes, cargo, and ships, but this Tuesday, it traded its industrial blues for beats and Bollywood bling. Why? The high-energy track ‘Money Money’ from Raid 2 dropped in full swag – and the launch wasn’t your typical press meet. It happened aboard the M2M ferry, cruising the coastline like a glam yacht party with a killer soundtrack.
But what really stole the show wasn’t just the track’s punchy beat or Honey Singh’s mic presence – it was the throwback tale the rapper shared about being four hours late on a past project with none other than Ajay Devgn.
Yep, rewind to 2014. The shoot was for ‘Aata Majhi Satakli’ from Singham Returns. Honey Singh, riding high on the wave of International Villager success, was the hitmaker every producer was dying to work with. But on this particular day, he arrived fashionably late… as in, four hours fashionably late.
Thinking he’d walk into a storm of scolding, Honey was prepped for drama. But instead of a rage-fueled Ajay Devgn moment, he was met with a calm, composed vibe. “He didn’t scold me at all,” Honey said, grinning. “We just sat and jammed to the beat instead. It was all cool.”
That mellow Devgn reaction? Classic. The man plays an intense income tax officer on-screen but clearly knows how to keep it chill in real life.
Money Money marks the duo’s big comeback collab after over a decade. And if the buzz from the launch is anything to go by, this track is about to make serious noise – both on the charts and in theatres when Raid 2 hits screens on May 1, 2025.
Also, side note – if you’ve watched Honey Singh’s Netflix doc ‘Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous’, you’ll know his journey hasn’t all been chart-toppers and dance floors. The man faced bipolar disorder, took time off, and came back stronger, proving that even hitmakers sometimes hit pause – and that’s okay.
Now, he’s back doing what he does best: dropping bangers and making Bollywood groove.
