After keeping fans waiting for ages, the makers of Shar Rukh Khan’s Jawan have finally released its trailer. Garnering almost 4 million views in its three hours of release, the trailer has for sure caught quite some eyeballs.
Starting with an SRK voiceover, narrating a story of a defeated king, who is out on a hunt, angry, the trailer shows the King of romance hijacking a metro train in Mumbai. When a security official asks him his demands, he jokingly says, “Alia Bhatt.”
However, the trailer, from this point, takes a rather mysterious but interesting turn, where SRK is shown as a good character where we see his younger self romance his actress, Nayantara. We are then introduced to, Vijay Sellupathi, who plays an outright villain, as an arms dealer, who forcefully looks to sell his deal.
A young SRK in an army uniform, refuses the deal saying that he won’t deal with people who are selling the country. He is then seen being beaten up by people.
We then see an entry of a ripped up SRK saying, “Bete ko hath lagane se pehle bap se bat kar” (Before you touch a son, speak to his dad)
The dialogue might reveal a possibility of SRK playing a double role as father and son. Where the father is out fighting against injustices done to his son. However, most of the plot has been kept under the wraps and will only be revealed if once the movie is revealed.
The trailer has been met with a positive response from fans, who are excited to see Khan in a new and different role. The trailer has also generated a lot of buzz on social media, with many people calling it one of the most anticipated films of the year.
Jawan is directed by Atlee and is scheduled to be released on 7 September, 2023. The film is produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.
