Jennifer Garner has reportedly decided to limit her interactions with Jennifer Lopez, her ex-husband Ben Affleck’s second partner, focusing only on matters concerning their children. According to sources, Garner, 52, no longer wishes to maintain personal communication with Lopez, 55, citing past tensions and her own emotional boundaries.

Insiders reveal that Garner previously found herself in an uncomfortable position, acting as a “marriage counsellor” during Lopez and Affleck’s tumultuous relationship. Garner, who shares three children with Affleck—Violet (18), Seraphina (15), and Samuel (12)—had been deeply involved in ensuring stability within their blended family, even as Lopez and Affleck’s marriage unravelled.

“Her friends feel she shouldn’t have allowed herself to get so involved in helping JLo to fix her marriage to Ben,” a source told Daily Mail. “Jen is too nice and truly wanted to help, so she tried.”

However, Garner reportedly felt used during the ordeal, especially given lingering emotions from her own past marriage to Affleck, which ended in 2018.

Despite stepping back, Garner remains committed to fostering a positive environment for their children. Violet, in particular, has maintained a close bond with Lopez, spending time in the Hamptons over the summer and recently meeting Lopez’s sister, Lynda, at Yale University.

While Garner found these interactions “odd,” sources emphasise that she harbours no ill will toward Lopez. “Jen’s loyalty is to the father of her kids—Ben—and their children,” a source explained. “She would never badmouth JLo.”

However, any further attempts by Lopez to connect with the children outside of Violet will reportedly need Garner’s approval.

Garner’s personal life appears to be flourishing. She has been in a long-term relationship with businessman John Miller, and recent reports suggest the couple is planning a Parisian wedding. Miller, who shares two children from his previous marriage, has supported Garner’s decision to distance herself from Lopez and Affleck’s challenges.

“It’s not her responsibility to fix her ex-husband’s issues with his current wife,” an insider previously said, reflecting Miller’s stance.

On social media, reactions to the reported rift have been mixed. Some questioned why Garner had been so involved in the first place. “Was it Garner JLo married? This just seems like a desperate attempt to stay relevant,” one user wrote.

Others expressed frustration with the narrative of pitting the two women against each other. “We aren’t still pitting women against women over a guy,” another commented.

As Garner steps back from the dynamic, the spotlight remains on the evolving relationships within this high-profile blended family.
