Punjabi singer Karan Aujla showcased “desi vibes” on the world stage when he appeared on American television to teach Jimmy Fallon some bhangra on The Tonight Show.
In the clip shared by the show on Wednesday, Aujla, who recently released his new album P-Pop Culture, greeted Fallon with a hug before announcing, “So I am going to teach you some bhangra today.” Fallon, dressed in his usual suit, looked hesitant, joking, “I am too stiff.” With Aujla’s guidance, Fallon quickly loosened up and joined him in dancing to “Gabru,” a track from the singer’s latest album.
For the performance, Aujla wore a classic black kurta-pyjama paired with a sleeveless jacket.
Fans flooded the comments, celebrating the appearance as a proud moment for Punjabi music and culture. One wrote, “Making us all proud!! Super excited to watch this episode,” while another added, “Punjabi cha gaye oye.” Others laughed at Fallon’s first tentative steps, saying, “At least he tried; Americans look so funny doing bhangra.”
Aujla’s appearance on The Tonight Show comes just weeks after the release of P-Pop Culture, his third studio album, which he launched in Montreal during a sold-out concert.
The singer is next set to perform at Rolling Loud India on 23 November 2025 in Navi Mumbai. The line-up also includes Don Toliver, Westside Gunn, Sambata, and more.
