Yes, you read that right. Katy Perry has officially joined the ranks of real-life space travellers  and her return to Earth was as heartwarming as it was historic.

On 14 April 2025, pop superstar Katy Perry blasted off into space aboard Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission, becoming part of the first all-female crewed spaceflight since 1963. The six-woman crew included Perry alongside media executive Lauren Sánchez, journalist Gayle King, activist Amanda Nguyen, former NASA aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, and space investor Kerianne Flynn.

The mission, which lasted just over 10 minutes, launched from Texas and soared past the Kármán line – the internationally recognised edge of space. During those few, breathtaking minutes of weightlessness, Katy didn’t just float  she sang. In a truly touching moment, she performed “What a Wonderful World” while gazing at Earth from above.

In true celeb fashion, Katy kept her participation quiet until take-off. Her social media went dark, and fans were left wondering where their favourite pop star had disappeared to. But her silence spoke volumes – Katy was preparing for something bigger than a stage performance. She was about to see the world from a whole new perspective.

Upon safely returning, Perry didn’t throw a glitzy LA bash (contrary to online rumours). Instead, her celebration was intimate and deeply reflective. In a tearful post-flight interview, she shared:

“I feel super connected to love. I think this experience has shown me you never know how much love is inside of you- how much love you have to give and how loved you are – until the day of launch.”

Fellow crew member Gayle King called the journey a “spiritual high,” and Perry echoed the sentiment by kissing the ground when she landed, overwhelmed with emotion.

While there’s no official word on a space-themed docu-series (yet!), Katy’s journey has already made headlines across the globe and inspired fans to think big – literally. Her space adventure wasn’t just a bucket-list moment; it was a testament to curiosity, courage, and embracing the unknown. Check out the post right here.

Whether she’s on stage or in zero gravity, Katy Perry knows how to make a moment unforgettable. And if this is what her next era looks like, the universe better be ready.

Space? Conquered.

Earth? Still her stage.

The stars? Just the beginning.
