Kirklees College has launched its new Adult Course Guide for the 2020/21 academic year.

The college has introduced new online courses in order to support learners during the coronavirus pandemic. They will provide flexible and remote learning options in addition to day and evening courses.

Community courses offered by Kirklees College aim to support learner’s work prospects, life skills and mental wellbeing in the changing workplace in response to COVID-19.

The new adult curriculum includes courses which provide professional recognised certificates, support for people returning to education, self-improvement or courses for individuals making a career change.

Adult subject areas include business, Construction, Engineering, Hair and Beauty, Science, Hospitality and Catering, Teaching, yoga, IT and arts and crafts.

Mark Bennington, Vice Principal Corporate Operations at Kirklees College, said: “As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, there is set to be an increase in demand for skilled workers in certain sectors.

“Our specialist Adult courses aim to support adult learners to upskill or retrain and gain valuable employability skills that will prove beneficial in the post-COVID job market and help them adapt to the new challenges in the workplace.”
