Disney+ started off strong this year with the release of ‘The Mandolorian’ series 2. The streaming service are not stopping there with their Star Wars shows, however.

Their upcoming ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series, starring Ewan McGregor, is gearing up to start shooting soon. Today, the service announced an influx of new cast members who have recently been added to the line-up.

It was revealed that Joel Edgerton, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Indira Varma, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie have all joined the series.

The ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series is set to be based ten years after the events of ‘Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith’. In the show, Kenobi (McGregor) will have to come face to face once again with his previous best friend and long-time enemy, Darth Vader (previously Anakin Skywalker). It was recently revealed that Hayden Christensen, who appeared in the Star Wars prequels as Skywalker, is set to return to the role.

The series is set to begin filming soon and is expected to release in 2022.
