Picture1The Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris which took place on 7th January 2015 left many startled, shocked and speechless. The aftermath has lead to many marches, protests, and debates being held to question the idea of freedom of speech and whether there is such a thing in society.

As such an event assessing community and civil society responses to the Paris killings will be taking place on Thursday 22nd January, chaired by JUST West Yorkshire’s Ratna Lachman. The event has been organised by JUST West Yorkshire and supported by Sharing Voices and Bradford Muslim Women’s Forum.

Panellists at the event will include Asian Sunday’s Editor Fatima Patel, Cllr Alyas Karmani who is the Chair of JUST West Yorkshire, Gordon Clubb terrorism expert from the University of Leeds and student Ali Alhakeem.

The event will be taking place from 18:00-20.00 and will be held at Sharing Voices, 2 Clifton Villas, Bradford, BD8 7BY. A Q&A session will be held with the panellists and places are limited for the event.
