Sangeet Foundation, a UK based mental health charity, has organised an online talk show on human trafficking. Mr Harold D’Souza will talk on Human Trafficking and its trauma in the event ‘When the Cage Bird Sings’, on Saturday at 4 pm.

Originally from India, Harold was an experienced sales manager. He stepped down from a senior management position to pursue the ‘American Dream’ he then believed to be in his reach. Harold went to the US following the advice and encouragement of a man who would become his trafficker. For over 18 months, Harold was exploited at the hands of the human trafficker, losing his freedom and struggling to keep his family safe.

Today, Harold is a Survivor-Advocate and Public Speaker. His fight for justice led him to become the Member on the United States Advisory Council on Human Trafficking. He was initially appointed by President Obama and re-appointed by President Trump. His Non-Profit organisation ‘ Eyes Open International’ has presence over 5 countries. It is working to help and raise awareness about Human Trafficking that is prevalent in the world.

The talk show will be hosted by their head of programs, Indrani Bhattacharya.

Mr Jayanta Ray, the co-founder of Sangeet Foundation, said:

“This talk show will focus on the mental trauma that a trafficked person goes through and how to overcome it. Being a survivor himself, Harold shall be the correct person to share his personal experience that will help many people.”
