Mindy Kaling is having a moment, and the world is here for it! The actress, writer, and producer officially received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, making history as the first South Asian woman to earn the honour. As expected, her long time friend Priyanka Chopra was among those cheering her on, calling her a “queen” in a heartfelt social media post.

Sharing a video from the event, Priyanka wrote, “First South Asian woman to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Queen. Congratulations, Mindy Kaling! So well deserved ❤️”.
The ceremony was a star-studded affair, with Kaling’s closest friends in attendance, including BJ Novak, Brenda Song, and Macaulay Culkin. Novak, who has known Kaling since their The Office days and is also the godfather of her children, delivered a hilarious and touching speech.
“You’d be on the Walk of Talent if they had one. You’d be on the Walk of Friendship. You’d be on the Walk of Compassionate Parenthood,” he joked. “But let’s face it, all of these would be terrible field trips. So here you are instead, very deservedly, a person who means so much to so many on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
While Kaling basks in this milestone, she’s not slowing down anytime soon. Hulu has officially greenlit her new comedy series, Not Suitable for Work, which she will create and executive produce. Set in the glamorous Manhattan neighbourhood of Murray Hill, the show follows five ambitious twenty-somethings juggling professional success and, if they can manage, a personal life. While more details are under wraps, fans can’t wait to see what she gets upto next!
