Lord Ashdown, the Head of the Liberal Democrats General Election campaign will be visiting Bradford on Tuesday evening to campaign to help re-elect David Ward in Bradford East.

220px-Paddy_Ashdown_3Lord Ashdown will be attending a private dinner in the French Ballroom at the Midland Hotel, Bradford. Attendees at the “Evening with Ashdown” will hear from the Lib Dems General Election supremo about why he is backing the campaign to re-elect hard working local MP David Ward.

The event is an opportunity to mark the achievements of Bradford Liberal Democrats over the past number of years and some of the good work that the Liberal Democrats have achieved whilst in Government. Guests will be able to listen to the progress that is being on the Liberal Democrat’s campaign in Bradford East which is seeking to gain local council seats and defend David Ward’s seat in Parliament over the next 90 days.

Whilst in Bradford, Paddy will also be shown the current construction of the Westfield shopping centre, which was made possible as the project received £17.5million from Nick Clegg’s Regional Growth Fund which David tirelessly campaigned for.

Speaking in advance of Lord Ashdown’s visit, David Ward MP said “It’s great to have Paddy come to Bradford to help us celebrate some of the fantastic work that the local Lib Dem team and I have accomplished over recent years.

david ward“We will be discussing some of the things that we have accomplished in Government for Bradford like securing £17.5million pounds which kick started the construction of Westfield, the £87million pounds that Bradford has received from the Pupil Premium and the 18,590 apprenticeships created since 2010, just to name a few.

“Having major figures like Paddy come to Bradford shows that the Party has confidence in me and the strong campaign run by my hard working team.”
