Pooja Bhatt and Suniel Shetty are set to share the screen once again in an upcoming action thriller from Lionsgate. The news comes after Bhatt shared a photo on her Instagram, hinting at the project.
Bhatt and Shetty previously worked together in the 1997 film “Border.” This new project will mark their reunion after over two decades.
Details surrounding the film remain under wraps, though it’s reported to be a large-scale action thriller. According to a source, Bhatt will portray a strong female lead, described as an “Iron Lady.”
“I have always had the privilege and made the choice to portray empowered women on screen,” Bhatt said in a statement. “I was immediately drawn to this character for the sheer power, depth & empathy she exudes. Her ability to take a stand for what she believes in and face challenges head-on is something I connect with on a personal level. Can’t wait for audiences to see this new avatar.”
Bhatt’s last acting credit was in the web series “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”
Shetty also recently shared a glimpse of his character on social media, hinting at his return to the action genre.
