After a six-year hiatus from Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has teased a potential return to the Indian film industry. The global superstar, last seen in The Sky Is Pink (2019), has been balancing a packed international schedule with projects like the Amazon Prime spy series Citadel and the action-drama The Bluff. However, in a recent conversation with HT City, she revealed that her search for the right Hindi project might finally bear fruit.

“I’m not joking, I meet many filmmakers here, read scripts. I have actively been looking for something I want to do in Hindi,” Priyanka shared. “This year was really busy for me. But I have something up my sleeve, I will leave it at that.”

When asked about her involvement in the much-anticipated road movie Jee Le Zaraa, Priyanka remained tight-lipped, saying, “You will need to speak to Excel [Entertainment] about that.” Directed by Farhan Akhtar and featuring an all-star cast with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, the film has been generating buzz since its announcement in 2021.

While Bollywood fans eagerly await her return, Priyanka has been thriving on the global stage. She recently completed filming the second season of Citadel and is working on the action-comedy Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena. Reflecting on her international journey, Priyanka attributed her adaptability to her teenage years in the United States.

“The process of filmmaking is the same everywhere. It’s the cultural differences that make industries unique. I can’t be rigid in India, expecting it to be Hollywood-like in Bollywood, or vice versa. Be like water, and not rigid,” she explained

Having spent 25 years in the public eye, Priyanka also spoke about the challenges of managing expectations and dealing with failure. “I have changed a lot. Being a professional, being able to deal with failure and change… that’s the hardest part,” she admitted. Known for her resilience, Priyanka added, “I was raised to be tough and hold yourself together. I am extremely private, so the hard part is managing public pressures.”

Whether her upcoming Hindi project turns out to be Jee Le Zaraa or a completely new venture, Priyanka’s return to Bollywood is sure to be a momentous occasion for her fans. As one of India’s most successful exports to Hollywood, her comeback promises to blend her global experience with her Bollywood roots. Fans will undoubtedly be watching closely for updates on this next chapter in her illustrious career.
