The nominations for the 2025 Golden Raspberry Awards, better known as the Razzies, have been revealed, ahead of the Academy Awards nominations announcement on Thursday (23 January). Celebrating its 45 consecutive year, the Razzies continue to spotlight the year’s worst films and performances, and this year’s list has already raised eyebrows. Joker: Folie à Deux leads the pack with seven nominations, following a disappointing reception and box office performance, grossing $206 million(approx. £162 million) worldwide against a $200 million production budget. In stark contrast to the first Joker, which earned over $1 billion globally (approx. £780 million), the sequel has struggled to find its footing.
Alongside Joker 2, Borderlands, Madame Web, Megalopolis, and Reagan each earned six nominations. Among the nominees for Worst Actor and Actress are Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, Lady Gaga, and Jon Voight.

The nominees were selected by 1,202 Razzie members, including movie buffs, film critics, and journalists from across the globe. The “winners” will be revealed on 1 March via a video press release.
As for Joker: Folie à Deux, its disappointing performance and critical reception has resulted in this film leading the Razzie charge. If Joker 2 does win any of its nominations, it will be a stark contrast to the film’s predecessor, which earned over $1 billion globally(approx. £780 million), reflecting the unpredictable nature of Hollywood’s successes and failures.
