Makers of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan’s long awaited and upcoming movie released the next song from the flick on Thursday, 22 December, and in just a day the song has hit 22 million views.
Sung by Arijit Singh and music given by Vishaal and Sheykhar, ‘Jhoome jo Pathaan’ is an ode to King Khan’s character in the movie.
While one set the expectations high post Besharam Rang, the movie’s first song, this one fails to reach the levels set.
The music in the song appears lacklustre while the beats remain energetic. The ‘drop’ in the song, where the song switches to main verse, fails to create the intended impact. Overall, the song depends too much on Shah Rukh Khan and looses out on other aspects of impactful music.
However, not all is wrong in the song. SRK has charmed the viewers with his trademark pose yet again, while Deepika looks graceful as always. The slap beats of the song, are indeed catchy and the dance steps it carries along has a potential to be an Instagram reel sensation. The song, gives a typical Bollywood masala vibe of dancing on the streets with Shah Rukh Khan showing off his chiseled body, which defies his age.
Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham will hit the screens globally on 25 January 2023. It will be SRK’s first movie after his 2018 flick, Zero.
