The much-anticipated ensemble film Metro… In Dino, starring Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur, is very much on track for its release – despite recent speculation about delays.
Quashing the rumours, the makers have confirmed that the film will hit cinemas in 2025 as scheduled. In an official statement, the production team reassured fans, saying, “Contrary to some media reports claiming that Metro… In Dino is getting pushed, we confirm the movie is releasing this year in 2025.”
Directed by Anurag Basu, the film marks the filmmaker’s return to the interconnected stories format, much like his 2007 cult hit Life in a… Metro. The upcoming project is widely considered a spiritual sequel, exploring the complexities of modern relationships across different generations.
The film boasts a stellar cast, with Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sensharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh playing pivotal roles. The story is set against the backdrop of urban life, weaving together multiple narratives, a style that Basu has mastered over the years.
Metro… In Dino also reunites Basu with long-time collaborator Pritam, whose music for Life in a… Metro remains one of Bollywood’s most celebrated soundtracks. The duo’s partnerships have delivered chart-topping albums, placing them alongside other iconic filmmaker-composer collaborations such as Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rahman, or Anurag Kashyap and Amit Trivedi.
Aditya Roy Kapur, who wrapped up a week-long schedule at Mumbai’s Film City in 2023, will be sharing the screen with Sara Ali Khan for the first time. The actor previously worked with Basu on Ludo, a performance that won him widespread praise.
With a powerhouse cast, soulful music, and Basu’s signature storytelling style, Metro… In Dino promises to be one of the most awaited releases of 2025 – proving that some stories are always worth the wait.
