Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to enthrall audiences as the voice of Mufasa in Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King. Sharing a deep connection with the character, Khan recently revealed how Mufasa’s journey reflects his own rise to stardom.
In a promotional video, Khan described Mufasa’s story as one of triumph against odds, saying, “Yeh kahani hai ek aise raja ki, jise siyasat ki roshni nahin, tanhaiyon ki virasat mili… par usne raaj kiya sabhi ke dilon par” (“This is the story of a king who inherited solitude instead of power… but ruled everyone’s hearts”).
The film also stars Aryan Khan as Simba and AbRam Khan as young Mufasa, making it a family affair. The Hindi cast features Sanjay Mishra, Shreyas Talpade, and Meiyang Chang.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, this live-action spectacle promises to immerse audiences in a vibrant jungle world when it hits cinemas on 20 December in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
