The highly anticipated supernatural thriller Nikita Roy, starring Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, has had its release date postponed. Originally set to hit cinemas on 27 June 2025, the film will now premiere on 18 July 2025, the producers confirmed on Thursday by sharing a statement on Instagram.

The delay comes amid concerns over a crowded release calendar, with multiple films vying for screen space. The team behind Nikita Roy cited a “battle for screens” as the key reason behind the shift.

“Hi guys! We have found ourselves in the midst of multiple releases and a battle for screens,” the statement began. “With advice from our well-wishers in the fraternity, distributors, and exhibitors, we have collectively decided to push our release to the 18th of July so that we can reach a wider audience.

“Thank you for the immense love you have shown for the film so far, but you’ll have to wait a little longer, and we promise you, the 18th of July will be worth the wait! See you in the theatres.”

The trailer for Nikita Roy, which delves into the realm of supernatural horror, has been out since earlier this month. Alongside with Sonakshi Sinha, the film also stars Paresh Rawal and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles. The movie is directed by Kussh S. Sinha and while some fans may be disappointed by the delay, the filmmakers are optimistic that the new date will be worth the wait.
