Beckfoot Oakbank secondary school in Keighley has reported a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.

It’s the third school in the Bradford district to have a staff member test positive in recent days as the new school year starts.

The Headteacher Tina Smith, at Beckfoot Oakbank School said there will be no impact on the students:

‘We can confirm that a member of staff has tested positive for Covid 19 within Beckfoot Oakbank
School.
We have followed the guidance from Public Health England and identified that 3 staff were in close
contact with the confirmed case and these affected staff will now isolate for 14 days.
None of these staff were in close contact with any students.
There is no impact on classroom learning in school, all students can attend as usual.
This information has been shared with colleagues, parent and carers. Our community is very
important to us and as always, we have been open and honest and kept all informed. The health and
wellbeing of all remains our priority.
We are delighted to have students in school this week and they are very happy to back. We
appreciate the hugely positive continued support of our community that helped this to happen.
We continue to review our risk assessment in order that we adhere to all current guidance, keep our
community informed and to support our students and families in any way we can’.
