Pakistan is to follow India’s suit by launching a new T20 event which will be held in Qatar, next year. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that 40 foreign players have registered interest, except players from neighbouring India.
The tournament which is being held in Qatar, will take place from 4th-24th February 2016 in Doha. The tournament itself will include five teams with the prize money said to be £64,350. Pakistan’s adopted home since 2009 (Dubai) hasn’t got enough stadiums, hence the reason why games will be played in Doha.
Pakistan have been playing in Dubai due to the ongoing ICC ban place on them of playing in Pakistan due to security fears. Pakistan will no doubt be looking to host a tournament which will rival india’s hugely successful IPL tournament.
