After keeping fans waiting, the trailer of The Great Indian Family was finally released across platforms today.

Starring Vicky Kaushal, the trailer opens with Bhajan Kumar, aka Vicky Kaushal narrating his life and introducing his family to the viewers. Coming from a family of ‘pandits’, Hindu priests who perform prayers for others in temples, Bhajan Kumar is shown as a widely respected character in his small town of Balarampur.

Bhajan Kumar narrates his longing for love, his youth and relations with devotees.

His life takes a dramatic turn when his family receives a letter, stating Bhajan Kumar was born in a different faith. This leads to his family and the community disowning him.

It is to be seen in the movie what the reality is and if Vicky Kaushal would be able to win his family back.

The Great Indian Family is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who is known for his work on films such as Dhoom 3 and Thugs of Hindostan. The film is scheduled to be released on 22 September 2023.
