Tracy Brabin has been officially selected as the Labour candidate for next years West Yorkshire Mayor election.
The MP for Batley and Spen was announced as the parties candidates after the voting was closed and counted.
Party members had to choose between Tracy Brabin, Susan Hinchcliffe the leader of Bradford Council and Hugh Goulbourne a lawyer and ambassador.

Tracy will go up against the Green Party’s Andrew Cooper and the Yorkshire Party’s Bob Buxton at the election next May.
Candidates for the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and other political parties have yet to be announced.
Ms Brabin, has been MP for Batley and Spen since 2016.
Reacting to the announcement Tracy posted on social media.
“Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me, I’m honoured to be our West Yorkshire Mayor candidate. Thank you to the volunteers who made calls, designed leaflets, and videos. Finally, thank you to Susan & Hugh for a good spirited campaign, I look forward to working with you”
