Actor Varun Dhawan, gearing up for his role in JP Dutta’s highly anticipated Border 2, marked Army Day 2025 by sharing photos with soldiers. The multi-starrer also features Sunny Deol in a leading role and is set to hit theatres next year.
Currently on location for the film’s shoot, Dhawan spent time interacting with soldiers to better understand their lives and unwavering dedication to the nation. “Honouring the real heroes of India,” he wrote while sharing glimpses of his interactions.
Sunny Deol also paid tribute to the armed forces, sharing photos and videos while donning a turban. “Saluting the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of our heroes. Happy Indian Army Day!” he posted. It remains unclear whether Deol and Dhawan are shooting at the same location.
Alongside Dhawan and Deol, the cast of Border 2 includes Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The film, directed by Anurag Singh, is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films.
Border 2 was officially announced on 13 June, 2024, commemorating 27 years since the release of the original Border in 1997. The sequel is slated for a grand release on 23 January, 2026.
