The teaser for ‘Sam Bahadur’, starring Vicky Kaushal was released today, and Vicky Kaushal looks completely immersed in his character of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.

The biopic, directed by directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwwala, stars Vicky Kaushal as Field Marshal Sam, Fatima Sana Shaikh stars as former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi and Sanya Malhotra could be seen playing the role of Sam Manekshaw’s wife Silloo.

Vicky Kaushal completely immerses into the character and appears to deliver a spectacular performance as Field Marshal Sam, presenting a close to accurate behaviour and demeanour as the former Indian Army Chief.

Field Marshal Manekshaw was born into a Parsi family in Amritsar, Punjab, British India. He was educated at the Hindu College, Amritsar, and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

He was commissioned into the British Indian Army in 1934, and served in World War II with the 4th Battalion, 12th Frontier Force Regiment. He was awarded the Military Cross for his gallantry in the Battle of Burma.

After the war, he served in a variety of staff and command appointments. He was appointed Chief of the Army Staff in 1969, and led the Indian Army to victory in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The war resulted in the liberation of Bangladesh and the surrender of the Pakistani army in the eastern sector. Manekshaw’s leadership during the war was widely praised, and he is credited with playing a decisive role in the Indian victory.

Manekshaw was a highly respected military leader, known for his courage, strategic brilliance, and sense of humour. He was also a staunch advocate for the rights of soldiers and their families. He retired from the army in 1973, and died in 2008 at the age of 94.

Manekshaw is remembered as one of the greatest military leaders in Indian history. He was a man of great courage, integrity, and professional competence. He played a key role in the liberation of Bangladesh and the establishment of India as a major military power. He is also remembered for his wit and his ability to connect with his soldiers.
