A Bradford restaurant owner wants to eradicate hunger for the homeless.
Saleem Akhtar, owner of the Jinnah chain of restaurants, has been feeding the homeless for a month on Fridays.
An encounter with a homeless man, made Mr Akhtar feel he needed to do more to help Bradford’s homeless. So each Friday he and his team took it upon themselves to prepare fresh curry and biryani, along with crisps, fruit and water to go out on to the streets of Bradford and deliver food to those going hungry.
The popular businessman now wants to appeal to Bradford’s other 800 food businesses to take it in turns and do the same once a month, so that no homeless person goes hungry.
