With the likes of Sofia Richie, a prominent social media influencer tying the knot early April and Millie Bobby Brown also made it official with her celebrity boyfriend. The Stranger Things actor took to Instagram recently to announce her engagement. Seems like putting a ring on it, is the way to go for celebrities these days.
Literally days ago, Pakistani actor Madiha Imam tied the knot in Dubai to her beau Moji Basar. Madiha Imam is known for her outstanding roles in dramas like Muqaddar, Dil-e-Momin and Zakham. Over the last few years, Madiha has been gaining a lot of attention for her brilliant acting, talent in delivering her roles effortlessly and seems to be hot property having starred in drama serials back-to-back.
On 3 May, Madiha Imam took to Instagram to announce her wedding to Indian filmmaker Moji Basar. The intimate ceremony took place in Dubai that included immediate family and friends. The detail of the wedding is still underway as the actor continues to tease fans about her newly married life.
What people are curious to know however, is who is the mystery husband? Moji Basar is a well-known producer and writer with many great projects. Luka Chuppi starring Kriti Sanon being a prominent one. He is also known to be a talented singer. He holds a master’s degree in filmmaking and direction from Bournemouth University of England. He currently resides in UAE where he married Madiha. Fans are also curious to know about how Madiha and he met. Though it has not been revealed by the couple themselves, many believe that they met on the set of the film Dear Maya where Moji worked as production assistant. It seems like both were close friends even before the wedding.
Seems fans are elated with the alliance as the majority of the comments under Madiha’s posts are positive, wishing her a happy married life. Nevertheless, there were a few judging her choice of groom. Some believe that Madiha is wrong for marrying outside her religion and criticised her for marrying someone who doesn’t share her religious values. Even though Moji’s religion is still a fact unknown, that did not stop a few from calling her out. A few protective fans suggested her to go private while some even confronted the hate comments.
That did not stop the couple from sharing glimpses of their spectacular wedding. It was indeed surprising to see that Madiha decided on not one but two different styles of wedding dresses. One featured her in a gorgeous, traditional maroon gown, depicting her inner Asian girl. The dress was courtesy of the famous Pakistani fashion designer, Zara Shahjahan. Madiha also showcased her dazzling bangles and dangly jewellery. Moji was seen to be wearing a traditional South-Asian dress of white kurta shalwar. Many people praised Madiha on her minimalistic style and unfiltered beauty. The couple looked vibrant and glowing in their wedding pictures. Madiha captioned the moment: ‘Please remember us in your prayers’.
It was the second part of the ceremony that was quick to grab the attention of the audience. Madiha, on her Instagram story, revealed her second wedding dress. It was white with floral style neckline paired with white trouser. The dress elegantly complimented her physique and highlighted her deep red henna. She accessorised it with a bouquet of off-white flowers. Moji, on the other hand, went with a beige suit that nicely complimented his white shirt. The couple seemed to be opting for a ‘white wedding’ reception, something that doesn’t seem to be common in South Asian culture. Despite the unconventional choice of attire, many fans showered the adorable couple with love and left praises under Madiha’s social media posts.
Another thing that did not slip the fans’ attention was the now erased Instagram posts on Madiha’s social media. Fans were wondering why the only posts that now exist on her Instagram account is that of her wedding. It is still unknown as to what the reason might be. Madiha has not commented on why she chose to do so.
Celebrity weddings have always seemed to be a topic of gossip and discussion among the public.
