Akshay Kumar has finally addressed the mystery behind his abrupt departure from the Bigg Boss 18 grand finale on 19 January, leaving fans and media questioning the reason for his early exit. The actor was originally expected to promote his upcoming film Sky Force during the star-studded event. However, despite arriving on set, Akshay left without filming his scheduled segment, leading to widespread speculation about the cause.
At a recent press conference in Delhi, Akshay provided clarity on the situation, revealing that Salman Khan’s delay, due to a personal issue, was the primary reason for his departure. Akshay explained, “I was running late for something. I spoke to Salman, and he told me he was stuck with something personal and would be about 40 minutes late. However, I had prior commitments and couldn’t afford to wait.”
Salman Khan, during the finale episode, also clarified the situation, explaining that Akshay had arrived to promote Sky Force but had to leave because of the timing conflict. Salman said, “Akki is also in the film. I got a little late, and he had to leave for another function, so he left.”
Akshay reassured his fans that there was no fallout between him and Salman, confirming that they spoke over the phone after the incident. “Mujhe jana pada… However, we spoke about it,” Akshay stated, putting any rumours of a rift to rest.
While Akshay was unable to promote Sky Force during the Bigg Boss 18 finale, his co-star Veer Pahariya made a memorable appearance in his place. Veer, the debutant actor, not only spoke about the upcoming film but also amazed the audience by showcasing his singing talent during the elimination task. Despite Akshay’s absence, the segment was still a hit, with Veer receiving praise for his performance.
