Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Rashmika’s character, Maharani Yesubai, was the wife of the Maratha ruler and is remembered as the Chatrapati Maharani of the Maratha Kingdom. The film also features Akshaye Khanna and is described as a “stirring tale of the courageous warrior whose coronation in 1681 marked the beginning of a legendary reign.”

The trailer for the film will be released tomorrow. Vicky Kaushal, who was recently honoured with the Youth Icon of 2024 award at CNN-News18’s Indian Of The Year ceremony, spoke about the pressure of portraying such an iconic figure. He expressed, “The first feeling is just, ‘Will I be able to do justice to such an incredible legacy?’ But that’s what excites me the most as well. Every opportunity like this gives you the chance to learn about their culture, their history, and their love for the country.”
