Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has put an end to speculation about his departure from the beloved game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) by confirming his return for the next season. The announcement came on 12 March, when the show’s makers released a heartfelt video featuring the legendary actor delivering a moving farewell—while assuring fans that this is not the end.
In the video, the 82-year-old megastar reflects on his 25-year journey with KBC, expressing gratitude for the love and connection he continues to receive from audiences. Speaking in Hindi, he shared,
“At the start of every phase, there is a thought that comes to mind: after so many years, will I still be able to see that love, that togetherness, that warmth in everyone’s eyes? And by the end of each phase, the truth becomes that this journey, this stage, and everything I have received has been far more than I ever wished for, and it continues to come to me. Our hope is that this desire remains the same and never fades.”
In an emotional closing, Bachchan addressed viewers directly, saying,
“If our efforts have even slightly touched someone’s life, or if the words spoken here have sparked hope in any way, then I will consider our 25-year-long journey truly successful. So, ladies and gentlemen, I will see you in the next season. Keep believing in your hard work, keep your dreams alive. Don’t stop, don’t bow down. You are valuable just the way you are. The announcement comes after weeks of rumours suggesting Bachchan might step away from the iconic quiz show. His return is sure to delight fans, many of whom have come to see KBC as synonymous with Big B’s warmth and wisdom.
