Hombale Films has released the official trailer for its highly anticipated epic Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1, ahead of the film’s UK premiere on 1 October 2025. The film, distributed in the UK by Laughing Water Entertainment, will enjoy a nationwide theatrical release on 2 October 2025.
The trailer, unveiled today in seven languages – Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali and English – offers a glimpse into the mythological world of Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, the prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara promises to transport audiences to the 4th Century AD, exploring the sacred origins of the mystical land of Kantara and the story of Kaadubettu Shiva during the Kadamba dynasty era.
Unlike a conventional sequel, Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1 has been designed as a standalone feature, delving into mythology, conflict and divine intervention while setting the stage for the wider franchise. Written by Rishab Shetty, Anirudh Mahesh and Shanil Guru, the film features Rishab Shetty in the lead alongside Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and Rukmini Vasanth.
With music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography by Arvind S. Kashyap, the film blends ancient themes with modern cinematic craft to deliver a visual spectacle. Globally renowned singer Diljit Dosanjh lends his voice to a track in the trailer, a collaboration that has already ignited excitement online.

Director Rishab Shetty, who rose to global prominence with Kantara – A Legend in 2022, returns to expand the universe of the original story. The 2022 release earned widespread acclaim, securing National Awards for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Actor, alongside extraordinary digital success, amassing more than 10 billion global impressions and 700 million online mentions.
