Veteran actor Anil Kapoor had high praise for Aryan Khan after watching the title announcement video for his upcoming directorial debut, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. The actor compared Aryan to legendary filmmaker Manmohan Desai, known for his grand masala entertainers like Amar Akbar Anthony and Naseeb.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Anil Kapoor congratulated Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and the entire family, writing:
“With the Dyavol in the director’s chair, #TheBa**dsofBollywood is a sure-shot blockbuster! @aryan you remind me of a young Manmohan Desai… Congratulations to you, @iamsrk, and the entire family for such a kickass debut!”*
Inside the teaser video
The title announcement video, unveiled by Shah Rukh Khan at a Netflix event, took a humorous approach. It featured SRK himself performing a scene, only to be constantly interrupted by Aryan, who was directing him.
The sequence ended on a comedic note, with Aryan casually revealing that the entire scene hadn’t been recorded, leaving SRK visibly exasperated.
Unlike other projects announced at the event, the makers of The Ba***ds of Bollywood have kept the series cast under wraps—only heightening intrigue.
Produced by Gauri Khan and co-created by Aryan Khan, Bilal Siddiqi, and Manav Chauhan, the series is described as:
“An ambitious outsider and his friends navigate the larger-than-life yet uncertain world of Bollywood. The series blends self-aware humour with a high-stakes narrative—featuring unforgettable cameos, blockbuster thrills, and an adventurous ride into the world of Indian cinema.”

During the event, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his excitement for Aryan’s directorial debut, adding that he hoped his children, now stepping into the industry, would receive even half the love that he has been blessed with over the years.
The event was attended by SRK’s wife Gauri Khan, daughter Suhana Khan, and Aryan Khan, making it a proud moment for the Khan family.
