Karan Johar is yet to recreate an iconic song of one of his iconic movie, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ after 25 years.
The Bollywood director has teamed up with singer B-Praak to present a version 2.0 of ‘Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayi’ set to be released on all platforms soon.
B-Praak, on 11 October, took to Instagram, to announce the song along with Karan Johar.
“I am thrilled to announce that I got the HONOUR to sing for one and only Shah Rukh Khan sir, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee,” he wrote in his Instagram post, thanking Karan Johar for trusting him to do justice with the song.
Alka Yagnik, Manpreet Akhtar, and Udit Narayan originally lent their voices to the song. Composed by Jatin–Lalit and featuring lyrics by Sameer, the songs in “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” dominated the music charts in 1998. Interestingly, “Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee” stood out as the sole melancholic track on the entire album.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary on 16 October, the movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Kajol not only clinched numerous awards but also garnered immense acclaim from both viewers and critics. Additionally, pivotal roles in the film were portrayed by Salman Khan, Anupam Kher, Johny Lever, and Archana Puran Singh.
