Pakistani actor Gohar Rasheed’s viral video sparks marriage speculation once again

0

A video showing Pakistani actor Gohar Rasheed signing nikah documents has gone viral, sparking widespread speculation about his marital status. The clip, which features Rasheed seated with a nikah registrar, alongside director Bilal Lashari and actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, has led fans to wonder if the actor is tying the knot with his close friend, actress Kubra Khan.

Last year, Rasheed confirmed in an interview with a YouTube show that he was no longer single, revealing that he was “happily in a relationship,” but chose not to disclose his partner’s identity. His announcement was met with delight when actress Ushna Shah added that the couple had known each other for years.

As the nikah video circulates online, social media is abuzz with claims that Rasheed and Khan might be planning to marry by February, although there has been no official confirmation from either party.

In addition to the viral video, Rasheed recently shared Instagram posts showing wedding dance rehearsals with several showbiz personalities, including Kubra Khan. His use of hashtags like #MereYaarKiShaadi (My Friend’s Wedding) has further fueled fan speculation about the actor’s nuptials.

While the video raises questions, it does not clarify whether Rasheed is getting married in the clip or if it relates to another event. Neither Gohar Rasheed nor Kubra Khan have commented on the growing wedding rumours, leaving fans eagerly awaiting an official statement.

Jim Carrey’s LA mansion under threat amid wildfires

0

Jim Carrey’s longtime Los Angeles mansion, which has been on the market for almost two years, is under threat from the ongoing wildfires ravaging Southern California. The actor’s Brentwood property, listed for sale after several price cuts, is now in jeopardy as wildfires continue to wreak havoc on the region.

Carrey’s mansion, originally priced at $28.9 million, was first listed in early 2023. After slashing nearly $10 million from the asking price, it was revised to $19.75 million (approximately £15.3 million). Despite the price reduction, the home, which spans 10,954 square feet, finally attracted a buyer and went into escrow after almost two years on the market.

However, the sale may now face a setback, as the Pacific Palisades fires are creeping closer to the property. The fires, which have been raging for a week, have prompted residents in the upscale area to be issued with a level 3 evacuation order. As of Monday morning, the fire line, now nearing Mandeville Canyon Road, was only 14% contained.

Carrey, who purchased the property back in 1994, had originally described the residence as a “sanctuary” but stated he no longer spends much time there. The sprawling estate includes five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a waterfall pool, a yoga space, a wine cellar, an art gallery, an Art Deco theatre, and a popcorn concession room.

The sale developments come in the lead-up to the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 premiere, with Carrey recently speaking about his financial situation. Despite having previously hinted at retiring from acting, he returned for the third Sonic film due to financial concerns. He told AP Entertainment, “I came back to this universe because, first of all, I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch. And, you know, it’s just … I bought a lot of stuff and I need the money, frankly.”

As the fires continue to threaten Los Angeles, Carrey’s former home remains at risk, adding another layer of uncertainty to the actor’s financial situation.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle respond to Justine Bateman’s ‘disaster tourists’ remark according to reports

0

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have expressed their displeasure at comments made by actress Justine Bateman, who labelled the couple as “disaster tourists” in the wake of their efforts to support Los Angeles wildfire victims.

A source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told Page Six that the couple found Bateman’s claims “offensive.” The source stated, “It’s offensive to Meghan and Harry that anybody would think this is merely a photo opportunity. Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles, so this is, and always will be, home to her.”

The couple’s representative went on to clarify that Meghan’s involvement was deeply personal, saying, “[She is] not just a tourist, her heart is completely broken for all the lives that have been lost and for those whose homes have been destroyed in these fires.” The statement also highlighted that they had invested time, resources, and money into helping those affected, long before the media coverage began.

The controversy arose after Justine Bateman took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticise the couple’s actions, calling their visit a “repulsive photo op.” She wrote, “Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. What a repulsive ‘photo op’ they achieved. They are ‘touring the damage?’ Are they politicians now? They don’t live here; they are tourists. Disaster Tourists. #PalisadesFire.”

Meghan also postponed the release of her Netflix cookery show, With Love, Meghan, from 15 January to 4 March, citing the need to focus on the aftermath of the wildfires in California. She expressed gratitude to her Netflix partners for supporting the decision, stating, “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”

Meghan and Harry have consistently advocated for community involvement and have dedicated significant effort to charity work, particularly focusing on mental health, social justice, and environmental causes.

Neil Gaiman accused of  more sexual misconduct by eight women

0

Best-selling British author Neil Gaiman has been accused of sexual misconduct by eight women, including four who had previously spoken out. Gaiman, best known for his works Good Omens, American Gods, and The Sandman, is facing fresh allegations following a report by New York Magazine.

The article, published on Monday, builds on accusations first reported by Tortoise Media in 2024, with a podcast that detailed allegations from five women. The latest report, however, includes additional claims from three other women, bringing the total to eight. Four of the accusers had also appeared in the Tortoise podcast.

One of the new claims involves an incident where a woman, who was babysitting Gaiman’s five-year-old child, alleges that he invited her to take a bath in his garden before joining her naked in the tub and sexually assaulting her. Other women have made similar allegations, detailing interactions that involved BDSM activities, which they claim were not discussed or agreed upon in advance.

Gaiman’s representatives have denied the allegations, asserting that the interactions were consensual and that the women had participated willingly, referring to BDSM as lawful between consenting adults. In response to the accusations, Gaiman’s representatives also previously told Tortoise that any actions taken were in the context of consensual BDSM.

A police investigation into a sexual assault claim filed in January 2023 was later dropped.

The allegations have had significant impacts on Gaiman’s professional projects. The upcoming third season of Good Omens on Prime Video has been reduced to a single 90-minute episode, with Gaiman no longer involved in the production. Disney has paused its adaptation of Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book, and Netflix cancelled Dead Boy Detectives, though it remains unclear if the cancellations are directly related to the allegations.

Despite this, Gaiman’s The Sandman season two, which is due for release later this year on Netflix, is still proceeding, as well as the Prime Video series adaptation of Anansi Boys.

Leeds Playhouse, which is preparing a musical adaptation of Gaiman’s Coraline, has stated it will continue with the project, but no official response has been given to the latest claims.

Beyoncé postpones major announcement following over £2 million donation to L.A. fire relief efforts

Beyoncé has announced that her highly anticipated reveal, originally set for Tuesday, 14 January, will be postponed in light of the ongoing wildfires ravaging parts of Los Angeles. The singer, 43, shared the news on Instagram, explaining her decision to delay the announcement due to the devastation caused by the fires.

In her statement, Beyoncé expressed her sympathy for the families affected by the wildfires, saying, “The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles.” She continued, “I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss,” and thanked the first responders working tirelessly to protect the community. She also encouraged her followers to support those impacted by the fires by visiting her public charity foundation, BeyGood’s website.

The postponement came just hours after Beyoncé made a significant donation to the fire relief efforts. The singer donated $2.5 million (approximately £2,050,000 GBP) on behalf of the BeyGood Foundation to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, as well as to churches and community centres affected by the fires.

Fans had been speculating about the nature of the 14 January announcement after Beyoncé teased the date with a cryptic video posted on Christmas Day. In the clip, Beyoncé appeared in an all-white outfit, sitting on a white horse and waving a flag, captioned simply with, “Look at that horse.” She had remained silent on social media since then, until her statement explaining the delay.

The wildfires, which have forced thousands of people to evacuate, have caused significant destruction, and the National Weather Service issued a rare Red Flag Warning for the area, citing strong winds that heighten the risk of “rapid fire growth.” As of Sunday, 12 January, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that the death toll had risen to 24 due to the fires.

Yograj Singh dismisses Hindi films and actors Ranbir Kapoor & Ranveer Singh , calls Taare Zameen Par a “nonsense” movie

0

Yograj Singh, the father of cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has sparked controversy with his strong opinions on popular films and actors, dismissing several well-known Hindi movies as “rubbish” during a recent chat with YouTuber Samdish Bhatia.

When asked about Aamir Khan’s critically acclaimed film Taare Zameen Par, Yograj did not hold back. Referring to the film, which focuses on a child’s struggles with dyslexia and the pressures of a demanding father, Yograj described it as “badi hi wahiyat film hai” (a really bad film). He further emphasised that he doesn’t watch such movies, suggesting a clear disdain for the film’s portrayal of parental expectations.

Yograj also reflected on his own parenting style, asserting that a father plays a pivotal role in shaping his child’s future. He remarked, “Baccha woh he banega jo Baap kahega” (A child will become what their father wants), further explaining how he steered Yuvraj away from his initial passion for roller skating in favour of cricket. Despite the tough approach, Yograj insisted that he never physically harmed his son during their intense training sessions.

Criticism of Bollywood films and actors

In addition to his dismissal of Taare Zameen Par, Yograj voiced his dislike for popular Bollywood films, including Baahubali. He bluntly called these movies “bekar” (rubbish), expressing that he doesn’t find Hindi films worth watching. His criticism extended to actors like Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor, with Yograj stating, “I don’t like Indian actors.” Instead, he expressed a preference for Hollywood classics such as Ben Hur and The Godfather, while admitting to enjoying the Punjabi crime thriller Kohrra.

Yograj also shared anecdotes about his intense parenting methods, including an instance where he sent a photo of his shoe to Yuvraj on his birthday with the caption, “I don’t think many achievements could have been possible without it.” While admitting to a tough love approach, Yograj insisted he never physically beat his son but used stern discipline to motivate him.

In a proud moment, Yograj recalled encouraging his grandson, Orion (Yuvraj’s son), to speak in Punjabi despite Yuvraj’s concerns that the child would be scared. “Now, Orion and I talk on the phone in Punjabi,” Yograj said, highlighting his commitment to preserving his cultural heritage.

Despite his tough methods, Yograj conceded that he may have been too hard on Yuvraj at times. Reflecting on his approach, he shared an anecdote where he admitted to Yuvraj, “I think I overdid it.” Yuvraj, however, reassured him, saying, “No, no. If you hadn’t done what you did, my story wouldn’t have been written.”

Yograj also revealed that many parents approach him to train their children, but he requires them to sign a document stating that he cannot be held responsible for any accidents during training, underscoring the rigorous and sometimes dangerous nature of his methods.

India Reynolds booted from Love Island: All Stars villa after clash with Scott Thomas

India Reynolds has been evicted from the Love Island: All Stars villa after a tense confrontation with her partner, Scott Thomas, leaving fans stunned by the unexpected turn of events. The 34-year-old beauty shared her experience and the moments that led to her shocking departure from the ITV reality show.

India revealed that her intuition told her her time in the villa was coming to an end. “As soon as Tina came in, she said she liked Scott. So I thought, I’m either going to be single or I’m going to be leaving,” India admitted. She further explained that the way Scott communicated the situation to her made her feel like he might also have feelings for Tina, which added to her sense of inevitability about her exit. “The way he relayed it to me, I felt like he maybe liked her as well. So I kind of knew it was coming,” she said.

Reflecting on her departure, India confessed that, in hindsight, she felt somewhat relieved. “I don’t think I would have enjoyed [seeing Scott with Tina] at all,” she shared. Her final moments in the villa were tense, and she explained that the last 24 hours had been awkward, making the goodbye feel less emotional. “It wasn’t like we were really good and then I got dumped. It was almost like we were just starting to clear the air,” she said.

Despite the clash, India expressed that she still considers Scott a “nice guy.” However, the situation had left a significant impact on their relationship. “Look, I think he’s a nice guy. I’ve known him for a long time, I don’t think he’s a bad person – but I think the last day in there really put a big wedge between us,” she explained.

India also admitted feeling frustrated about Scott’s actions in the villa. “If I’d have stayed in, we probably would have got over it, but I wasn’t feeling that good about the situation,” she concluded.

India’s departure adds to the ongoing drama of Love Island: All Stars, leaving viewers wondering how the rest of the relationships will evolve in the coming episodes.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar opens up about Sami Khan’s alleged tantrums and subsequent apology

0

Renowned Pakistani writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar recently shared his experience working with actor Sami Khan during an appearance on Channel 24’s talk show, hosted by Fiza Ali. The acclaimed writer discussed the challenges he faced with Sami Khan during the production of the drama serial Love, Life Aur Lahore, including alleged demands, unprofessional behaviour, and an eventual apology from the actor.

Khalil revealed that he initially hesitated to cast Sami Khan for the role, citing concerns about the actor’s ability to deliver the complex dialect of Lahore’s Walled City, where the story is set. “I had finalised Moammar Rana for the role, but the producers suggested Sami Khan instead,” he explained. Despite his reservations, Khalil decided to give Sami a chance after the actor pleaded for the opportunity, saying, “Sir, please do cast me; it will help me progress in my career.

Khalil recalled how, after 100 episodes, issues began to surface. “The production team informed me that Sami Khan was making unreasonable demands,” he said. According to Khalil, Sami asked for tickets for himself and later for his family, which disrupted the production’s workflow. Adding to the friction, Khalil discovered that Sami had signed a contract with producer Babur Javed, prioritising other dramas over Love, Life Aur Lahore.

In a shocking turn, Sami reportedly sent a text to the producers, stating they should either meet his demands or replace him. “I was shocked,” Khalil admitted. “I don’t appreciate people who betray me. He didn’t even receive my calls or respond properly.”

Faced with mounting challenges, Khalil turned back to Moammar Rana, who stepped in to take over the role. “It was very kind of Moammar Rana to accept my request and act beautifully. I am thankful to him,” Khalil said.

Known for his gripping storytelling and memorable dramas, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has delivered numerous hits, including Mere Paas Tum Ho, Pyare Afzal, and Landa Bazar. His current drama, Sunn Mere Dil, is airing on Geo TV, and he has several upcoming projects, including the feature film Mirza Jutt and the drama serial Main Manto Nahi Hoon. Khalil is also planning to launch his own production house, further solidifying his status as a powerhouse in Pakistani entertainment.

This incident sheds light on the complexities of the entertainment industry and highlights Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s no-nonsense approach to professionalism and dedication to his craft.

Kartik Aaryan on losing roles to star kids: ‘it’s not their fault, I’ve made peace with it’

0

Actor Kartik Aaryan has opened up about losing film roles to star kids, sharing his perspective on the much-debated insider versus outsider issue in Bollywood. Speaking with The Indian Express, Kartik revealed that he has faced situations where he felt he missed out on roles due to his outsider status but has since come to terms with it.

“I have also lost opportunities where I thought maybe I should have gotten the opportunity rather than someone who is from the family,” Kartik shared. Despite these setbacks, he emphasised that he doesn’t hold any grudges. “It’s not their fault. I have made my peace with it. If I had been born into that family, the same would have happened to me too.”

The insider vs outsider debate refers to the perception that young actors from film families have an easier path to securing roles compared to those without industry connections. While many have criticised this trend, Kartik’s balanced approach highlights his understanding of the systemic nature of the issue.

A stellar 2024 for Kartik Aaryan

Kartik has had a remarkable year in 2024, earning both critical and commercial acclaim. He starred in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion, portraying Paralympic champion Murlikant Petkar. While the film didn’t perform well at the box office, Kartik’s performance was widely praised for its emotional depth and authenticity.

His next release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, was a massive success. Released during Diwali, the horror-comedy earned nearly £39 million (₹400 crore), surpassing the highly anticipated action film Singham Again, which released on the same day.

Kartik is now gearing up for his next project, Aashiqui 3, which was announced in 2023. However, the film is reportedly delayed, leaving fans eagerly awaiting updates.

With his recent successes and an ability to navigate the industry’s challenges, Kartik Aaryan continues to cement his place as one of Bollywood’s most promising talents.
