The highly awaited Legally Blonde prequel series, a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, is reportedly closing in on its lead actress for the role of a young Elle Woods.

As per Deadline, Madison Wolfe and Lexi Minetree are among the finalists who have auditioned for the role that was originally made famous by Reese Witherspoon in 2001. While no official decision has been announced, sources suggest the casting choice is likely to be revealed soon.

The search has been extensive, with many actresses vying for the coveted role. Witherspoon, who is set to executive produce the series, has been closely involved in the casting process. Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she shared her excitement about the talent, revealing that the audition process had been going on for months, with many impressive tapes coming through. “I just love them all so much and they’re doing such a good job,” Witherspoon expressed.

The prequel, written by Laura Kittrell, will follow Elle in her high school years, charting the experiences that helped shape the character audiences know and love.

Fans of the franchise can look forward to seeing the early journey of Elle Woods, which promises to offer an exciting glimpse into the iconic character’s past before she became the Harvard-bound, law student that captured everyone’s hearts.
