What happens when a group of middle-class women running a humble lunchbox service stumble into the dangerous world of drug cartels? Well, Netflix’s upcoming thriller Dabba Cartel is here to answer that question—and the trailer suggests things are about to get criminally good.

The nearly three-minute clip promises a gripping ride as five ordinary women, led by Shabana Azmi and Jyotika, find their seemingly innocent dabba (lunchbox) business morphing into something far more sinister. As their operation gets tangled with the shadowy dealings of Viva Life Pharmaceuticals, their once-simple lives spiral into a treacherous game of survival, deception, and high-stakes crime.

With double lives unravelling and the pressure mounting, the real question is: how far will they go to protect their families?

On Tuesday, the makers unveiled the trailer on social media with the tagline: “They’re cooking. And it’s criminally good.” Naturally, fans had thoughts, like:

“Women in male-dominated fields”

“Why is Indian Netflix content always so dark?”

“The women in this!! The cast is 🔥🔥🔥”

Directed by Hitesh Bhatia and penned by Vishnu Menon and Bhavna Kher, Dabba Cartel is produced by Excel Entertainment and created by Shibani Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda.

The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Shabana Azmi, Jyotika, Gajraj Rao, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat.

Set to premiere on 28 February, Dabba Cartel looks like it’s about to serve up an intense mix of suspense, power struggles, and women who refuse to be underestimated. If you loved Narcos but thought it needed more masala, this might just be the binge-worthy crime drama you’ve been waiting for.
