Daisy Ridley has shared a thrilling update for Star Wars fans, confirming her return to the iconic franchise to reprise her role as Rey. The actor revealed that work is underway on the sequel’s script, which is being penned by the talented George Nolfi.

Speaking about the upcoming film, Ridley expressed her excitement, saying, “It feels really good that George is putting the script together. I haven’t read the latest version, but I know the direction of the story, and I’m confident that George is a phenomenal writer. We’re making sure that the script is the best way to tell the story, and I think it’s going to be worth it for the audience.”

Ridley, who first stepped into Rey’s shoes in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) and continued her journey in The Last Jedi (2017) and The Rise of Skywalker (2019), is clearly thrilled to bring Rey back to the big screen. “I’m very excited,” she added, hinting at even more thrilling developments in the works.

In addition to her Star Wars news, Ridley also opened up about her potential future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). When asked about joining the Avengers, the actress made it clear that she’s open to the idea. “Look, I’m open to loads of stuff,” she said. “If they call, absolutely.” Ridley even mentioned how a colleague from the Avengers team had reached out to her, further fueling the idea that she could soon be part of the Marvel family.

“I’m a fan of so many films, like Batman and The Penguin,” she added, teasing her enthusiasm for various genres. So, could we see Ridley join the ranks of Earth’s mightiest heroes? It’s certainly a possibility that has fans buzzing.

Ridley also reflected on the criticism she faced after joining Star Wars, particularly after The Last Jedi, which was met with divided opinions. “It’s still upsetting,” she shared. “You don’t want people to feel like you’ve not served the thing they’re a fan of. But it was such a divisive experience… it didn’t change how I felt about it.”

Whether it’s Star Wars or potentially the MCU, it seems that Daisy Ridley is ready to continue her legacy in the world of blockbuster franchises. Fans can look forward to more from the actress in the near future.
