Pakistani actor and police official Dodi Khan has addressed the speculation surrounding his marriage to Rakhi Sawant. In a video posted on social media on Thursday, Dodi clarified that while he did propose to Rakhi, they are not planning to marry. He explained that his admiration for her stemmed from the hardships she has faced and her resilience, which moved him deeply.
“Hello India and Pakistan, this is Dodi Khan. A few days ago, a video of mine surfaced on social media where I was seen proposing to Rakhi Sawant. I proposed to her because I know her well. As I got to know her, I realised that she is deeply devoted to God. She has faced numerous challenges in life—losing her parents yet standing by them during their illnesses. A man entered her life, and everyone knows how he treated her. She endured immense trauma, yet she emerged stronger. She embraced Islam, performed Umrah, and changed her name to Fatima. That touched me deeply, which is why I proposed to her,” Dodi shared in Hindi.
Despite his fondness for Rakhi, Dodi acknowledged that their marriage might be problematic due to his Pakistani background, citing the backlash he has received. He assured Rakhi, however, that although they would not marry, he would help her find a suitable match in Pakistan. “I don’t think this will be acceptable to people because I have received many messages and videos, and I cannot bear it. So, Rakhi ji, you are a dear friend and will always be. While you may not become my bride, I assure you that you will be the daughter-in-law of Pakistan. I will personally see to it that you marry one of my brothers,” he added.
Earlier this week, Rakhi Sawant had claimed in an exclusive statement to News18 Showsha that she was set to marry Dodi Khan. She said, “He is from Pakistan. I am from India, so we will have a love marriage.”
Rakhi Sawant was previously married to Adil Khan Durrani, but their relationship ended in 2023. Prior to Adil, she was also married to Ritesh Raj Singh, whom she introduced on Bigg Boss 15. However, their marriage was short-lived, and they separated shortly after the reality show concluded in February 2022.
