Pakistani drama industry has been breaking barriers with many exceptional projects over the past few years.
Taboo topics that had been forbidden to talk about have made way into the entertainment world for the whole world to experience.
Dramas such as ‘Bedardi’ which revolved around AIDS was one of the initials projects that revolved around a sensitive issue. It managed to receive immense positive feedback from audience.
‘Udaari’ talked about child molestation and ‘Rehaai’ was another popular one which dealt with child marriages. These were dramas that talked about what the world needed to see and indeed were delivered with great mastery.
Another such project is one the way.
Just now, prominent Pakistani actress Sonya Hussyn, shared pictures of her character from upcoming drama ‘Gangs of Kharasaan’.
Netizens were appalled by the images as it showed Sonya not only portraying a man but a man with substance addiction.
The character, named ‘Murshid’ will be one of many important ones from the serial.
Sonya has been enthusiastic about bringing light on important issues. She had previously played a character with schizophrenia which made it to the list of popular Pakistani dramas.
Even now, the passion can be interpreted by just her social media posts alone.

So far, the viewers have been truly supportive of Sonya under her Instagram post.

It is hard to anticipate what to expect from the drama since trailer is yet to be aired, but one thing can be said with surety, it will mark as yet another drama serial which talked about a topic that public needed to understand.
