As Akshay Kumar’s Raniganj runs successfully in theatres globally, the actor recently became a target of backlash with a release of a commercial ad film starring him along with Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn.
Akshay Kumar, who is known to promote a healthy lifestyle, faced backlash, when he first appeared in the ad film promoting tobacco substances or Pan Masala last year. Following the backlash, Akshay Kumar issued an apology saying that he will not endorse any kind of tobacco, however the brand in question might continue to air the brand for the legal duration.
However, after an year, the brand released another commercial which again starred Akshay Kumar. This caused outrage among fans yet again, who slammed the actor for not standing by his statement.
Following a refreshed outrage, Khiladi Kumar has posted a rather angry ‘fact check’ on the issue. Responding to an entertainment media house via twitter, Akshay wrote: “These ads were shot on 13th October, 2021. I have not had anything to do with the brand ever since I publicly announced the discontinuation of the endorsement. They can legally run the already shot ads till the end of next month,” while slamming the media house for allegedly running what he claims as “fake news”
‘Returns’ as ambassador? Here’s some fact check for you Bollywood Hungama, if by chance you are interested in things other than fake news. These ads were shot on 13th October, 2021. I have not had anything to do with the brand ever since I publicly announced the discontinuation…
