Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull series, a long-time favourite among Bollywood audiences, is set to return with its fifth instalment, Housefull 5, due for release on June 6, 2025. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, this new chapter reunites Akshay Kumar with Nadiadwala following the success of Housefull 4.
Filming is currently underway, and the team has been making waves aboard a cruise, where the chaos and comedy of the movie are set to unfold. On 3 October, the makers shared a picture on social media featuring the full ensemble cast, which includes Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangda Singh, and many others. The Instagram post read, “The team of #Housefull5 cruising their way to y’all. Get ready for the biggest wave full of laughter, madness and entertainment!”
According to Pinkvilla, Housefull 5 will introduce a complete makeover, taking the madness and fun aboard a cruise ship, making for a fresh, exciting backdrop for the comic thriller. This instalment aims to bring new flavour to the franchise with a different tone of comedy.
While fans are eagerly anticipating the film, reactions on Twitter have been mixed. One user joked, “Whole Bollywood is in Housefull 5, I guess,” while others have expressed concerns over the set up of the movie, “I doubt they will copy Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, and A Haunting in Venice. They will change the tone to comedy. Hope they don’t!” said another. Casting decisions have also sparked debate, with one user stating, “Sorry but I’m not happy with this casting… not even one bankable actress… they should have cast Alia or Shraddha… or at least bring Deepika back.”
