After Karan Johar’s highly successful comeback with Rocky Rani ki Prem Kahani, the director isn’t wasting anymore time and has already announced another movie, set to release in September next year.

Karan Johar will be reuniting with Alia Bhatt once again, in his next, titled, ‘Jigra’, this time as a producer.

Jigra is directed by Vasant Vala, who is known for directing the thriller movie, Monica O My Darling, starring Rajkumar Rao

The film announcement, opens with a quote from acclaimed British author GK Chesterton, “The paradox of courage is that, one must be a little careless of life in order to keep it, and pans on to an animated figure of Alia Bhatt, with the actress’ voiceover saying, “Meri Rakhi pehenta hai na tu? Tu hamesha meri protection mai rahega”.

The dialogue in itself challenges, gender stereotypes and revolves around the tradition of Raksha Bandhan, where a sister ties a rakhi to the brother, in return of promise of protection.

However, the dialogue describes a sister herself promising to protect her brother, while tying a Rakhi.

This makes a rather interesting take for a story premise.

We’ll have to wait a few more months to know what the movie would be about.
